Missin' Grandpa

May 28th, 2009 my wonderful Grandpa Samuel J Swartz passed away after a short illness. We all love him and miss him dearly but are incredibly grateful for the privilege we have had to have know him. My grandpa was they model of who a faithful man should be. He loved his family( especially all those great grand children), honored and loved his wife, did all he could to lead his family to a faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. He was a guide, a counselor, one of the greatest and most influential men I will ever know in my life. I don't think I have the words to adequitely describe all he has ment.

I have such wonderful memories of the loving man he was and how he gave so much of his time to his family. My grandparents always had their grandchildren surround them took us for weeks to trips to the beach, picking wild strawberries from the ditches, or at there home. Every Christmas we would go there to make an ornement for our parents the 9 of us. Grandpa was a master of the "donald duck" voice, played guitar and sang beautifully, and was always so patient and accomodating. As children my sister, Becky, cousin, Misty, and I use to "massage" his head into all sorts of tangles. Unfortunally, I think we were resposible for more than a few lost hairs:)

I'm so glad my children got to know this most wonderful of men.

Mandy, these pictures are great. Everyone in your family can download them and have a copy. How is your grandma doing without him? I hope she and you all are doing well. I enjoyed talking to your grandpa at the kids' birthday parties and getting to know him a little bit. I think he was a wonderful blessing in your life.

What great pictures of your grandfather, and a wonderful tribute that you wrote about him. Sorry to hear about your loss.
