Poor Benjamin had to spend a few nights in the hospital this last week. We took him in because he was breathing really fast and his heart was racing a mile a minute, poor little guy was just panting. It was so strange. When we got to the ER is oxygen level was pretty low so they have him oxygen. After some chest and throat xrays there we were riding in a medical transport up to Mary Bridge for a CT scan(the other kids were so sad to head home with out Benjamin). They thought he may have an abscess which was ruled out (thank you for no surgery). Well after that they decided to admit him overnight which turned into two and then three. He just couldn't maintain a good oxygen level while he was sleeping and it kept dipping to low. We came home Wednesday which we were all very excited about. I much rather be stuck at home than in a hospital room for sure.It wasn't all bad we had a nice view compared to most hospital room where Benny could watch the boats in the distance and cars and trucks along the streets. And Benjamin was so frustrated to be connected to machines by a number of wires that were always beeping. And having IVs in both arms. When he was all disconnected before his discharge he kept running around the room and giggling "beep beep" ( too cute). Then we ended up taking him back to the ER early Thursday morning because he was breathing really fast and had a high temp out of no where. Well now wee know he has an ear infection, croup and pneumonia. But he is good natured about it and as long as no one is trying him down he is dealing well. So except for the 4-6 nebulizer treatments we have to do for the next 4 day he is totally happy.
I'll tell ya I have definitely had my fill of sick kids, poor baby.
Through it all we've been very blessed with childcare help from Chris' mom, dinner brought in by friends and all the wonderful prayers offered on Benjy's behalf.
